A celebrity-led trend, a certain Ms Cara Delevingne is almost solely responsible for bringing brows back. The 21-year-old model is known both for her huge, dark, dramatic brows and an unhealthy Instagram addiction.

It seems that the former trend is finally reaching the high street, with the NPD Group reporting a 52% year-on-year increase in the sales of prestige brow products in the UK. Between January and May 2014, sales of brow products totalled £6.5 million. The most popular brow products are from brands including Benefit, Bobbi Brown, Estee Lauder, MAC and Clinique. NPD Group also lists the most popular brow products on the market. Top of the list is Benefit’s Brow zings, followed by Clinique Superfine liner for Brows and Mac Eyebrows.

NPD Group’s UK Beauty Director, June Jensen, commented on the trend: ïpower brows are now an essential make-up look. Early adopters of the trend were inevitably the fashion set, but the look has now become mainstream.’
