Award winning iSalon client Byron Hairdressing of Kirkcaldy, are this year continuing their support for Fife’s Maggies Centre, entering their 21st  year of fundraising for the charity, so far raising over £50,000 for the incredible cause.

Having participated in many different fundraising challenges such as blind fold haircuts, in salon events and a ben Nevis climb, the team this year have put their best foot forward, walking an incredible 46 miles along the Fife Coastal Path – in one day. A mammoth task in itself, the team began the challenge at 5.45am on Sunday 27th May and completed the challenge by 10.00pm at Kirkcaldy’s Ravenscraig Park – 16 whole hours of walking all in aid of such an incredible cause, finished with a well earned glass of fizz at the finish line. In total, the team have raised £5172.39 through the challenge and were delighted to hand over the donations to the team at Maggies Centre.

Director of Byron, Ronnie Marshall explains, ’When we started adding a physical challenge for Maggie’s Centre eight years ago, I never thought this would become a bi-annual event and that every challenge set would become more challenging.  In the process it has taught us a lot about ourselves as a team. It’s the support we give each other, the drive and commitment we have and sheer determination to complete the challenge which is everything I see from the team who run Maggie’s.  The truly inspirational people who use Maggie’s Centres, the challenges they face every day as the go through their cancer journey is key reason why we challenge ourselves and why we raise money every year for this amazing charity.’
