Within the hairdressing and beauty industries, members of this employment sectors are often deemed the most charitable workers across the United Kingdom, providing haircuts to the homeless in key areas, working with kids who require extra assistance in the salon and generally just showing kindness.

With this in mind, many salons have opted to show their charitable side working closely with local charities to not only support them, but people within their local area as well as those within the hairdressing industry as a whole. Here is our top tips for being more charitable –

Choose a charity of choice

We recommend teaming up with a charity in your local area or one that is close to the hearts of you and your team, taking donations for their fantastic cause. This can be through salon events and raffles, perhaps donating a days tips, or simply by spreading the word on your social media channels.

Support their local events

Once you have chosen a charity, work with them and ensure you support them and in return they will of course support you! Perhaps they are holding a raffle or an event – why not take part! This not only shows how much helping means to you and the team, but also means you can promote your services to their clients/customers too.

Spread the word

There is no better way to promote a charity than by telling people about it! Speak to your clients in the salon, promote via your social media channels, on your website and wherever you can!

Decide whether they will be your nominated charity

Many business tend to stick with one charity that they feel means a lot to them, although some salon prefer to spread charity and opt for a different charity every year – whatever you decide is fantastic, as it is still helping those in need!
