With less than six weeks to go until Christmas, it is time to plan the trimmings for the turkey and wrapping of the presents, but for salon owners there are so many other things to consider to ensure you have a successful festive period.

As the busiest time of year for hair and beauty salons, it is essential that you are ready to cope with the huge influx of clients who want to ensure their appointments are booked and secured in advance getting them party ready for the festive season.

The first thing to consider is your team. Hold a staff meeting to ensure that all team members are on the same page and working in line with your brand guidelines throughout this busy period. Ensure everyone is satisfied with their working hours, routines and shifts, and that any holidays are communicated to ensure that all appointments are secure and do not require any changes.

Secondly, consider your retail display. You will have lots of lovely retail Christmas sets in the salon, so it is crucial that they are displayed perfectly and easily for clients to browse and hopefully purchase. Ensure all team members are knowledgeable about the products available and confident in the prices of each etc.

Lastly, don’t forget the most important aspect – the decorations! Clients love to feel the festive spirit and eye-catching Christmas displays are a welcoming touch. This will also help clients adopt that ‘holiday mentality’ which can work well for retail sales and overall salon ethos.
