The first Salon Summit Elevate Roadshow, sponsored by Eleven Australia Scotland and iSalon Software, took place recently in Edinburgh at the luxurious Scotsman Picture House. WhatSalon introduced their brand and three iconic speakers from the hairdressing industry; Jo Robertson, Education Director at Wonderful Brands, Leighanne Regan, Owner of Renu Hair Studio and Jenn Linton, Owner of Linton and Mac.

WhatSalon Head of Sales, Adam Turner welcomed the intimate audience of 45 guests to the stunning cinema theatre and outlined the afternoon. With each of the speakers covering a diverse topic, each of them provided guests with an invaluable insight into creating a strong brand identity, and how to market this effectively, using social media to elevate the work they do and the recipe to award winning success.

Adam introduced education expert, Jo Robertson to the stage. Previously the Education Director for ghd and now an independent business consultant and Education Director at Wonderful Brands, Jo captivated the audience. Her key message to strategise what you do and why you do it in order to establish who you are and what you have to offer.

Jo concluded her slides and Adam re-joined to introduce Instagram hairdressing sensation Leighanne Regan. Opening her salon with zero financial support behind her and no team, Leighanne was against all odds and now works with some of the UK’s most influential reality stars and Instagram models. The audience were privy to Leighanne’s tips and tricks for creating killer content for your salons Instagram page as Leighanne styled Instagram influencer, Remi Jayne Cox’s hair on stage.

Following this live demonstration was one half of the renowned Scottish salon, Linton and Mac Jenn Linton. With numerous industry awards under her belt and regular backstage work at LFW, Jenn shared her story from first time salon owner to balancing this with her extracurricular work out with the salon floor, whilst still effectively managing a team of 30 strong in her salon.

A question and answer session was opened to the audience and guests were asked to move from the theatre to the reception area in which the WhatSalon Awards People’s Choice images were displayed. WhatSalon recently launched their first photographic awards with five categories and from 100 entries, 16 finalist images were selected. These were presented at the Roadshow and guests were asked to vote for their favourite image – the winner of this category will be announced at the Salon Summit event in Birmingham on 7th June 2020. Tickets are currently available to purchase at the early bird rate of £75 per ticket; https://salonsummit.co.uk/
