INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY

An annual celebration of the women’s advancement in modern day living, International Women’s Day is being held on Friday 8^th March 2019, with the organisation urging as many people to get involved as possible.

But what exactly is International Women’s Day?

International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

International Women’s Day is all about unity, celebration, reflection, advocacy and action – whatever that looks like globally at a local level. But one thing is for sure, International Women’s Day has been occurring for well over a century – and continues to grow from strength to strength. Learn about the values that guide IWD’s ethos.

How can you celebrate within your salon/spa?

There are many ways you can get involved in this years IWD, and they can be as simple as taking a picture! Here are our top 3 recommendations for getting involved;

1 – Wear purple! Purple is the colour which IWD is associated with and signifies unity amongst women. Urging your team to take part and taking a picture to upload to social media along with this years #BalanceForBetter is a great and easy way to get involved and create engagement.

2 – Hold an event. An event is a great way to get involved but also a great way to get clients and potential clients into your salon or spa. To help promote IWD you could offer a taster event, a ladies evening or even just a small get together and donate the proceeds to charity.

3 – Run a marketing campaign. In the run up to IWD why not run a campaign that coincides with IWD. Perhaps offer a retail offer on purple products, or create an IWD offer for those who visit the salon on the day itself. It can be simple but very effective!
