YOUR HELP IS NEEDED!

There is now less than two weeks to go until the Palma Half Marathon and I need your help please.

Over recent weeks and months, I have been training hard to acheive my end goal of completing the course in under 2 hours. Last weekend I took part in Equinox24, an endurance running event that takes part in the stunning grounds of Belvoir Castle in Leicestershire. It was a fantastic event and our small team of three people completed 12 laps of the 10km course, I myself completed 6 laps in the 24hr time period, that’s 37.2 miles covered in total. While this was a good test of my fitness and endurance, it has unfortunatley caused a minor injury to my right leg which is recovering now. If you are interested in this event for the future, or just wondering what it is you can check it out here.

While I am walking and running a little gingerly at the moment, I am still confident that I will complete the half marathon course. However, I will have to see how my leg feels on the day as to whether I can still achieve my time goal.

So how can you help? I am extremely grateful for all of the donations received so far but I am sure that we can raise so much more. I am completing this challenge to raise awareness and money for a fantastic charity, The Pituitary Foundation do some amazing work to help those suffering from the many different conditions linked to issues with the pituitary gland. This is a condition that I have been aware of for a number of years having a family member who suffered from one of the many problems associated with it, ultimately losing his sight. Please also take the time to check out the work this charity does here.

Please visit my JustGiving page and make a donation, no amount is too small. I am also adding a little competition to make things interesting on the day. When you make your donation, have a guess at what time you think I will achieve on the day. I will match the donation of the time that just beats me. For example, if I complete the course in 2hrs exactly and the next fastest time is 1hr 59min, I will match the donation associated with that time. (clear as mud eh?). You can find my JustGiving page here.

For those of you who like to study form before placing bets – and I know there will be a few of you. You can follow my training progress on Strava here.
